Ranking methodology

Useful is more important than loud.

Directory ranking starts with relevance and editorial quality—not who pays, who has the biggest audience, or who has the shiniest marketing.

Starting factors

Text relevance (30%), need and audience match (20%), editorial quality (15%), community helpfulness with a small-sample correction (15%), evidence fit (10%), accessibility and format fit (5%), and review freshness (5%). These weights are versioned configuration, not a permanent secret recipe.

Medical-intent searches

For medication, diagnosis, treatment, or safety queries, evidence fit gets more weight; unevaluated commercial claims are suppressed; and the site shows a medical-information reminder. We never personalize treatment recommendations.

Penalties and separation

Overdue reviews, broken links, unresolved reports, misleading metadata, and unclear commercial conflicts can reduce visibility. Sponsored placements, if introduced later, will be separate and unmistakably labeled.
